Park Hyatt Siem Reap & LHA Sewing School is one of five projects of Life and Hope Association which started in 2016. It was originally funded by Shinta Many Hotel and Hotel De La Paix but, later on, only Hotel De La Paix continued its support for the whole running and in 2012 Hotel De La Paix was changed to Park Hyatt Siem Reap Hotel and Spar and still has strongly commitment to support this project as a part of social responsibility. It is located in Wat Damnak, Sangkat Salakomreuk, Siem ReaP City, Siem Reap Province. It is dedicated to providing the opportunity of vocational training skill to young women and girls at risk to improve the quality of life.
Target Group:
1. The women and girls who have not got any education.
2. The women and girls who have low education without any specific skill and job.
3. The women and girls from poor families and from the countryside or remote area are the priority.
4.The vulnerable women and girls are the main target group for our school
5. Can be the women and girls who finished high school or middle families but they have not any specific skill and job to do.
6. The women and girls who worked in brick Companies and sky building.
Our Supports such as accommodation, food, health care, hygiene, safety, security, love, respect, caring, 40 lessons of production clothes, English teaching, Khmer teaching, morality teaching, sewing machine, business training, and other training with our NGO partner. It took ten months to finished our vocational training term.
After the term is completed, we celebrate The Graduated Ceremony to congratulate their success and giving them sewing machines and some sets of clothes and we still continue our help by finding the job opportunity for them especially, we have been running our social entrepreneur that can provide job opportunity for our graduate students with fair wages.
Until now, there are 290 women and girls attended our vocational program and 90 % have been working with Companies, Shops, in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, 5 % have been working as their own business at their hometown, 3% have been working as the sewing teachers with other NGOs, and 2% decided to work in other fields.
We really thank all donors especially, Park Hyatt Siem Reap Hotel and Spar which always given us great and helpful support, without this support our school can not run for serve our women and girls to make some changes for their lives.
